This is green. It tastes like mint and vanilla. It has the consistency of smooth soft-serve ice cream and is nutritious enough to eat for breakfast. It's one of those recipes that gives you a reason to get up in the morning.

Frozen bananas, frozen mango, and frozen spinach are blended with mint leaves, peppermint flavoring, and POW vanilla casein into something that looks festive green and tastes like a minty vanilla dream. Blue spirulina is optional – it adds no flavor but a beautiful color for those who want that little extra.

Serve in glasses or bowls if you have enough self-control not to eat it all directly from the blender. No guarantees.

INGREDIENTS (for 2 servings)

  • 200 g frozen bananas
  • 200 g frozen mango
  • Approx. 30 g frozen spinach
  • A few mint leaves
  • 3–4 drops peppermint flavoring
  • 1 heaped scoop POW vanilla casein
  • Approx. 1 dl unsweetened almond drink
  • 1 tsp blue spirulina (optional – adds no flavor but a nice color)
  • Chocolate chips (optional – but why not)

INSTRUCTIONS

  • Blend all ingredients in a high-speed blender until smooth.
  • Add chocolate chips if you want that little extra. Or many. Who's counting?
  • Serve in glasses or bowls. Or directly from the blender. We don't judge.
